IMAGE TOOLS 01

Compress to 1 MB

Automatically shrink photos and scanned images to fit a 1 MB limit, such as government, school or insurance document uploads. Quality is adjusted first to keep text readable, then the resolution if that is not enough. Files are never sent to a server; they are processed only in your current browser.

HOW IT WORKS 02

Pick your files,
save just the result.

01

Add images

Select several at once. Each file can be up to 25 MB.

02

Check the 1 MB target

The 1 MB or less target is already selected. Files are kept under 1,000,000 bytes so they pass whether the site counts 1 MB as 1,000,000 or 1,048,576 bytes.

03

Save the result

One image is saved as an image file, several as a ZIP. If a file would grow larger than the original, the original is kept.

WHERE 1MB

Where do 1 MB limits come up?

Online government services, school assignment portals and insurance claims often ask for receipt or proof photos under 1 MB. Check whether the limit is per file or for all files together.

ABOUT TEXT

How do I keep text in document photos readable?

When a document photo loses resolution, small text blurs first. Open the result after compressing and check that the smallest text is still readable. For several pages, you can also combine them into one file with JPG to PDF.
