IMAGE TOOLS 01

Remove photo location data

Remove EXIF data such as GPS location, camera model and capture time from photos. Only the metadata is cut out and the photo is not re-saved, so quality stays exactly the same. Files are never sent to a server; they are processed only in your current browser.

HOW IT WORKS 02

Pick your files,
save just the result.

01

Add photos

Select several at once. Each file can be up to 25 MB.

02

What gets removed

GPS location, camera or phone model, capture time, editing software records and comments are removed. Orientation and colour profile are kept so photos do not turn sideways.

03

Save the result

One photo is saved in the same format, several as a ZIP. You are also told how many photos contained location data.

ABOUT EXIF

What information is inside a photo?

When location services are on, phone photos store the GPS coordinates of where they were taken. Posting originals on marketplaces, blogs or forums can reveal your home or workplace, so it is safer to remove it first.

ABOUT QUALITY

Does it reduce quality?

Unlike image compression, the photo is not re-saved; only the metadata is cut out, so the pixels match the original. The file only shrinks by the size of the removed data. For iPhone HEIC photos, converting HEIC to JPG removes the data too.
