IMAGE TOOLS 01

Compress to 500 KB

Automatically shrink images to fit limits around 500 KB, such as email attachments, blog and online shop photos or marketplace listings. Quality is lowered first, then the resolution if that is not enough. Files are never sent to a server; they are processed only in your current browser.

HOW IT WORKS 02

Pick your files,
save just the result.

01

Add images

Select several at once. Each file can be up to 25 MB.

02

Check the 500 KB target

The 500 KB or less target is already selected. Files are kept under 500,000 bytes so they pass whether the site counts 1 KB as 1,000 or 1,024 bytes.

03

Save the result

One image is saved as an image file, several as a ZIP. If a file would grow larger than the original, the original is kept.

WHERE 500KB

What is 500 KB good for?

For photos on web pages and in messengers, about 1,600–2,000 px on the long side at 500 KB is hard to tell apart from the original on screen. It also helps on boards where you upload several photos at once.

ABOUT FORMAT

Should I choose JPG or WEBP?

At the same size, WEBP usually looks sharper. Some sites do not accept WEBP, though, so if you are not sure, keep the output format the same as the original or choose JPG.
