HEIC to JPG

Turn HEIC and HEIF photos from an iPhone into JPGs that open anywhere. Convert several at once and save them as a ZIP. Files are never sent to a server; they are processed only in your current browser.

HOW IT WORKS 02

Pick your files,
save just the result.

01

Add HEIC photos

Select several .heic files copied from the Photos or Files app. Each file can be up to 25 MB.

02

Choose quality

Quality 90 looks almost identical to the original. To make files smaller, pick a target size in the image compressor after converting.

03

Save the JPGs

One photo is saved as a JPG, several as a ZIP. The first conversion downloads the HEIC decoder (about 3 MB) once.

ABOUT HEIC

Why won't my HEIC file open?

HEIC is the high-efficiency photo format iPhones use by default. It is smaller than JPG at the same quality, but Windows PCs and many upload forms on government or shopping sites do not accept it, so it needs to become a JPG.

ABOUT LICENSE

How does the conversion work?

HEIC decoding uses heic-to, an open-source wrapper around the LGPL-3.0 licensed libheif, without modification (source: github.com/hoppergee/heic-to). The decoder is downloaded only when you convert on this page and runs inside your browser.

What Freecvt processes

This tool processes files with your browser's WebAssembly (libheif). Files are not sent to an external server for conversion.
