When you should keep the PDF
Use PDF→JPG when you want to put a page of a document into a slide or a post. The result is an image, so it does not offer text selection or search, clickable links, form filling or electronic signature verification.
If you need searchable submission material, the original PDF may be the better choice. Unlike a screenshot, the page is drawn based on its page size, but the conversion does not preserve every PDF feature.
Resolution and actual pixel dimensions
After selecting one PDF, choose 72dpi, 144dpi or 216dpi. These options draw the page to a canvas at 1×, 2× or 3× the PDF coordinates. For documents with rotation or cropped areas, the page area calculated by PDF.js is used.
As an illustrative example, a 200×100-point page becomes 200×100 pixels at 1×, 400×200 at 2× and 600×300 at 3×. Doubling the long side means four times the pixels, and tripling it means nine times. The number of bytes does not grow by the same ratio.

JPG quality vs. print DPI
The quality slider is a JPG encoding option. Lowering only the quality at the same resolution keeps the same width and height in pixels. For small text, secure enough pixels first, then zoom in on the result to judge it.
Choosing the 144dpi option does not guarantee that the JPG’s print metadata is also recorded as 144dpi. The canvas’s output metadata and the rendering scale are different things. To determine print size, check both the result’s pixels and your printing program’s settings.

Ranges and download file names
Leave the range empty to convert every page. ‘1-2, 4’ selects pages 1, 2 and 4; duplicates are removed and pages are processed in original order. Enter positions counted from the first page, not the printed page numbers.
A one-page result is a single JPG; multiple pages produce a ZIP containing JPGs. Page 2 of sample.pdf becomes sample-p2.jpg. Choosing ‘2’ in a 3-page document should give exactly one JPG with that name. Do not upload the ZIP itself as if it were a JPG; extract it first.
Failures, memory and privacy
Only PDFs up to 50MB are accepted. Even below that, large pages and many pages can use a lot of device memory. Convert only the range you need first, or lower the resolution. Damaged or password-protected PDFs may not open, and page numbers that do not exist or reversed ranges are errors.
Files are converted inside your browser. Do not put original documents or unnecessary personal information into the contact form. The JPGs are separate output files, not a complete copy that can stand in for the original PDF.
Keep the original and check the content, size and format of the result.
